Dancing on the Beach!
Author Amanda Virrey
AN
INTENSE feeling of exaltation always emerges from deep within me whenever
someone twirls me around or whenever I sway my hips and pirouette to an
entrancing music.
I
become oblivious to my
surroundings because I deeply concentrate on the constant sensuous
movement that ledge and ballroom dancing entail before succumbing to
ineludible exhaustion, which is quite temporary as I real back to the
dance floor.
At the end of the night, I come home restored and gratified.
The fact is dancing really is a feel-good drug.
We
become addicted to it without even being aware
that aside from its cardiovascular benefits, dancing, based on scientific
researches, actually reduces tension and anxiety, decreases blood
pressure, alleviates depression, resolves underlying psychological
problems, and heightens a sense of well-being.
Fortunately,
we have this opportunity always open to us when we most need it.
More
so in the view of
Boracay’s white beach where tranquility and
spontaneous fun activities are ever achieved.
This is clearly on the basis of the island’s dynamic atmosphere.
At
night, one can generally see men and woman dancing instinctively to an
upbeat tempo on the platform of a bar or on the beachfront.
Now,
it is also done during the daytime on the small podium of
Cocomangas Beach Bar where the sunrays reflecting on the sapphire-like
water and pure white sand completes a distinctive element that is
essential to the hip-swaying and sinuous movements of ballroom dancing.
In
six days of every week, men and woman drop in at Cocomangas
Beach Bar to perfect the art of ballroom dancing. Their motivation to
learn tango, swing, cha-cha, boogie, foxtrot, salsa,
and Singaporean reggae may be atoned to its classic grounds, such as to
boost their confidence, to fill in a void, to be functional in social
events, and to burn at least 238 calories per hour.
Or else it may simply to be due to their involuntary surrender to the
romantic illusions of power that dancing poetically entails.
So
whenever you feel like
dancing, do not hesitate.
Just get up and move to the beat and you will certainly feel goo d about
yourself.
Why not?
You are in Boracay anyway!
